Our Female Engagement Officer works throughout all of the Inspire Together strands to support, encourage & inspire girls of all ability to participate in sport and physical activities with confidence. We recognise that female engagement in sport and physical activity is generally lower than males throughout their time at school, significantly dropping off during the teenage years, which can set a worrying trend for adult life. Our officer works with girls to give them a sense of belonging and enjoyment in PE, school sport and physical activity.

Some of the funding for this role comes through the Barclays Girls Football School Partnership programme which Inspire Together proudly host for Leicester. This is a nationwide scheme that aims to mainstream football in schools for girls. Supported by the Youth Sport Trust the initiative will create a network of BGFSPs across England by 2024, each with a dedicated education expert with knowledge and understanding of education and girls’ football in their local area.
